Student-Centered Coaching is an evidence-based, instructional coaching model that shifts the focus from ‘fixing’ teachers to collaborating with them to design instruction that targets student outcomes. WORKSHOP INFORMATION
Recommended Audience: This Level 2 workshop is designed for K-12 instructional coaches who have been implementing Student-Centered Coaching for at least one year. This workshop will provide the opportunity for coaches to take their implementation of Student-Centered Coaching to the next level. Spend two days learning advanced strategies, collaborating with other coaches, and reflecting on artifacts from your own coaching work. Compare our Level 1 and Level 2 workshops here.
Level 2 Criteria: Participants for this workshop will be selected based on an application process. Selections will be based on the following criteria:
- Has been implementing Student-Centered Coaching for more than one year or is currently working with our team.
- Is currently a K-12 coach.
- Has attended professional development that was provided by Diane Sweeney Consulting – this includes Student-Centered Coaching workshops, online classes, conferences, or onsite consulting led by our team.
- Is willing to create and share a coaching portfolio. This includes: a Results-Based Coaching Tool, coaching logs, and any other artifacts from your coaching work.
- Maintains a learning stance when collaborating with others.
Location: Denver, Colorado at the DoubleTree Hilton Cherry Creek, 455 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80246 (discounted hotel rooms available)

Price: $495 per person. Payment will be requested from participants only if they are accepted to attend.

Presenters: Student-Centered Coaching authors Diane Sweeney and Leanna Harris will be presenting this two-day workshop along with members from their team.

Lodging: Discounted rooms are available at the DoubleTree Hilton Cherry Creek for $154 per night plus tax. Each room reservation includes one breakfast both mornings – additional breakfasts can be purchased for $15 at the hotel. A link to make reservations will be emailed upon completion of registering. (The hotel has agreed to offer these discounted rates on the front and/or back end of the workshop if you’d like to stay an extra day or two.)
Travel Notes: The workshop ends at 2:30 p.m. on day 2 (August 22). Please allow 45 minutes of drive time to Denver International Airport when making flight reservations and plan on arriving at the airport two hours before your flight.
Refunds/Cancellations: Workshop registrations canceled on or before June 28, 2023 are refundable and subject to a $25 administrative fee. Registrants canceling after June 28, 2023 and before July 27, 2023 will receive a 50% refund. Registrations canceled after July 27, 2023 can be used for one of our self-paced online courses but are not refundable. All registrations can be transferred to another person. In the event that we must cancel the workshop due to circumstances beyond our control, we will refund the cost of registration. However, we do not assume responsibility for any costs, charges, or expenses incurred for travel and lodging.

Leanna Harris
Leanna Harris has worked in the field of education in a variety of capacities for over 25 years. She worked for several years as an elementary classroom teacher in the Denver area. She then brought this experience to the larger educational setting as a consultant and staff developer with the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC), and later as a school-based instructional coach across grades K-12.

Diane Sweeney
Diane Sweeney has been a national consultant since 1999. After teaching and coaching in the Denver Public Schools, Diane served as a program officer at the Public Education and Business Coalition (PEBC) in Denver. Since then she has become a respected voice in the field of coaching and professional development.

Julie Steele
Julie Steel has been in public education since 1998 as an elementary teacher, instruction specialist, and consultant. Her consulting work includes in-person and online support related to the implementation of Student-Centered Coaching. Julie recently co-authored our newest publication, "Moves for Launching a New Year of Student-Centered Coaching."
