As we anticipate heading back to school, we know that teachers will be grappling with how to reconnect with students in a way that keeps them safe, healthy, and learning. At the same time, coaches will be working through how they will provide support in the current environment. This may include coaching virtually, supporting teachers in a hybrid school environment, or helping teachers redesign their instruction based on current guidelines.
This six session course will provide hands-on strategies, tools, and practical assignments that will walk instructional coaches through how to start the year. Sessions will address in person and virtual coaching, and will include the development of a concrete deliverable, such as creating a tool or artifact that will be used in your own school. Instructors will provide feedback on the work that is created. This course is recommended for K-12 instructional coaches who are familiar with Student-Centered Coaching. If you are new to the model, we recommend The Essential Guide for Student-Centered Coaching (Sweeney and Harris, 2019) as a way to build your foundational knowledge about Student-Centered Coaching.
