Student-Centered Coaching is an evidence-based instructional coaching model that shifts the focus from ‘fixing’ teachers to collaborating with them to design instruction that targets student outcomes. WORKSHOP INFORMATION

Recommended Audience: This workshop is well suited for instructional coaches, administrators, and district leaders who are new to Student-Centered Coaching. We also encourage school and district teams to attend together.

Location: Denver, Colorado (DoubleTree Hilton Cherry Creek, 455 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80246, discounted hotel rooms available)

Dates: May 22-23, 2023

Price: $495 per person. All registrations include lunch both days.

Registration: Opens on November 1, 2022. Space is limited; no groups larger than 10, please.

Presenters: Student-Centered Coaching authors Diane Sweeney, Leanna Harris, and Julie Steele will be presenting this two-day workshop along with their team.

Recommended Books: Moves for Launching a New Year of Student-Centered Coaching (Corwin, 2022), The Essential Guide for Student-Centered Coaching (Corwin, 2020), and Student-Centered Coaching: The Moves (Corwin, 2021).

Lodging: Discounted rooms are available at the DoubleTree Hilton Cherry Creek for $154 per night plus tax. Room reservations include one breakfast both mornings – additional breakfasts can be purchased for $15 at the hotel. A link to make reservations will be emailed upon completion of registering. (The hotel has agreed to offer these discounted rates on the front and/or back end of the workshop if you’d like to stay an extra day or two.) 

Travel: The workshop ends at 2:30 p.m. on day 2 (May 23, 2023). Please allow 45 minutes of drive time to Denver International Airport when making flight reservations.

Refunds/Cancellations: Workshop registrations canceled on or before March 17, 2023 are refundable and subject to a $25 administrative fee. Registrants canceling after March 17, 2023 and before April 14, 2023 will receive a 50% refund. Registrations canceled after April 14, 2023 can be used for one of our self-paced online courses. All registrations can be transferred to another person. In the event that we must cancel the workshop due to circumstances beyond our control, we will refund the cost of registration. However, we do not assume responsibility for any costs, charges, or expenses incurred for travel and lodging.

Leanna Harris

Leanna Harris

Leanna Harris has worked in the field of education in a variety of capacities for over 25 years. She worked for several years as an elementary classroom teacher in the Denver area. She then brought this experience to the larger educational setting as a consultant and staff developer with the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC), and later as a school-based instructional coach across grades K-12.

Diane Sweeney

Diane Sweeney

Diane Sweeney has been a national consultant since 1999. After teaching and coaching in the Denver Public Schools, Diane served as a program officer at the Public Education and Business Coalition (PEBC) in Denver. Since then she has become a respected voice in the field of coaching and professional development.

Julie Steele

Julie Steele

Julie Steel has been in public education since 1998 as an elementary teacher, instruction specialist, and consultant. Her consulting work includes in-person and online support related to the implementation of Student-Centered Coaching. Julie recently co-authored our newest publication, "Moves for Launching a New Year of Student-Centered Coaching."
